A Guest lecture on ‘Native Trees and Sustainable Development’ was organized by the Centre for Swachh Bharat- Swastha Bharat, Clean Campus Committee and Department of Geography on 12th January 2019 in A.V. Hall for students of undergraduate and postgraduate programme of the respective department. Mr. Vivek Sharma, Founder Director, Srishti Foundation (NGO) addressed the gathering  with the plight of present hour and the efforts one should do to save the environment. He stressed on different types of pollution affecting the environment and the importance of tress to maintain the ecological balance. He also stressed on the requirement of saving water as it’s a non-renewable resource and in the same context he explained the construction of Rain Water Harvesting Structures. He also suggested the concept of sustainable development to be paid attention so that concrete jungles can have enough space to breath.

He emphasized the utility and importance of Native Trees and their role in sustainable development. He also suggested all the students to plant trees on their birthdays.

The session was followed by an interactive session which opened the minds of the students to the importance of Environmental Conservation and Cleanliness.
