The Department of Geography organized an educational visit to the Jantar Mantar, Jaipur on 14th August 2015. 45 Students from graduation (B.A/B.Sc- Semester III and Semester V) took active participation in the visit. The visit included field survey to the observatory where the students got acquainted with the use and working of different instruments Small Samrat Yantra, Large Samrat Yantra, Dhruva Yantra, Narivalya Yantra, Observer’s Seat, Raj Yantra, Unnathamsa Yantra, Dakshina Yantra, Rashivalayas Yantra, Jai Prakash Yantra, etc. The students also got familiar with working of instrument in projection and the effect of movement of Sun on different latitude and planets.
The students asked questions related to different cosmographic phenomenons.
It was a very knowledgeable experience for the students which gave them understanding about the projections in particular and geography in general
