Guest Lecture on Regional Development and Planning in India

 

Department of geography organized a special lecture on the topic “Regional Development and Planning in India” on 26 February 2014, Wednesday in IIS University campus. The lecture was delivered by eminent Professor and former Vice Chancellor, Allahabad University, Prof. R.P. Mishra. Prof. R.P Mishra is a renowned geographer, planner, institution builder and Gandhian scholar of great repute. He has been on some of the prominent positions like Chairmanship of the post-graduate department of geography (1965), founder the Institute of development studies, University of Mysore (1971). Recently (2002-04), he was Mahatma Ghandhi National fellow of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi.

All the research scholar, P.G. and UG students of Geography attended the lecture. Research scholars also discussed about their research related ideas in the field of Regional Planning.

The students were acquainted with the recent regional planning policies and trends.Gallery
