Department of Geography at IIS (Deemed to be) University, organised a Guest lecture on 2nd April, 2024 between 11:30 A.M - 12:30 P.M in the A.V hall in the IISU campus on the relevant topic “ Research Methodology: Application of Statistical tools in Geographical Research delivered by an eminent speaker Professor R.N. Mishra (Retired and Former Head University of Rajasthan, Jaipur) for the students (II,IV, VI Semester of BA/BSc and II, IV Semester of MA/MSc Geography 2023-24).

The objective of conducting this guest lecture is that this topic is being currently taught at Graduation as well as Post Graduation and Ph.D course and is fruitful to all students to enhance their knowledge regarding the Application of Statistical tools in conducting Research in geographical studies.

Ms. Shikha Kataria Assistant Professor of the Department of Geography welcomed the eminent speaker and all the faculties and geography students to the programme. After welcoming with a kind and warm speech she then invited Prof. Dr. R.S.Vijayvergia, Head of Department for a brief introduction.

Then, she invited the honourable speaker on the dais to present the PowerPoint Presentation on the topic “ Research Methodology: Application of Statistical tools in Geographical Research”.

After this Ms. Shikha Kataria, invited HOD Dr. R.S. Vijayvergia to propose the vote of thanks and to felicitate the eminent speaker with a planter and stole.

At the end, Vote of Thanks was proposed by HOD, Dr. R.S. Vijayvergia for delivering the insightful lecture and all the faculties and students for their warm participation.

Total 48 students have attended the guest lecture and almost all of them have positively responded to have gained a lot from this inquisitive and thoughtful session.
