The study of medical geography or geography of health is essential to portray an understanding and prevailing of the patterns of diseases over locations and time.Analysis of the links between the migration of people and spread of diseases and environment and health is by its very nature a spatial problem.

The students will be able to – CO18: The students will be able to provide a critical understanding of key concepts related to medical and health geography and will be able to examine the role of societal structures and human behaviour in creating and sustaining health inequalities and differences in access to health care. CO19: Along with that they will provide a set of analytical skills to evaluate the demographic, social, economic and political relationships that can explain health inequalities and differences in access to health care. CO20: They will understand how spatial analysis using Remote Sensing and GIS can benefit health care systems to enhance health access to health care. |
