Objective: 
This course will enable the students to develop a conceptual understanding of
teaching and research aptitude, exhibit cognitive ability including comprehension and communication
&mathematical reasoning.
Course Outcomes: 
CO1: Distinguish the new techniques in their professional development and they will be able to analyze and compile the new avenues of teaching and learning.
CO2: discover new facts, to verify and test important facts, to analyze an event or process or phenomenon to identify the cause and effect relationship, to develop new scientific tools, concepts, and theories to solve and understand scientific and nonscientific problems.
CO3: Formulate and reinforce the writing, grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation skills of the students.
CO4: design ways to adapt their communication style and methods to create understanding and engagement with others. Use communication techniques to enhance their communication skills professionally and academically.
CO5: higher level of aptitude results in better performance in learning and adapting to it. It allows students to employ critical skills to examine mathematical question.
CO6:Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction.

Characteristics and basic requirements.
 Learner’s characteristics: Characteristics of adolescent and adult learners (Academic, Social,
Emotional and Cognitive), Individual differences.
 Factors affecting teaching related to: Teacher, Learner, Support material, Instructional
facilities, Learning environment and Institution.
 Methods of teaching in Institutions of higher learning: Teacher centered vs. Learner centered
methods; Off-line vs. On-line methods (Swayam, Swayam prabha, MOOCs etc.). Teaching
Support System: Traditional, Modern and ICT based.
 Evaluation Systems: Elements and Types of evaluation, Evaluation in Choice Based Credit
System in Higher education, Computer based testing, Innovations in evaluation systems.
